A little about me!  I have been writing for publication (part time) since 2000, and my paid writing jobs includes over 125 feature and news articles, and one book: I'm Not Your Kid: A Christian's Guide to a Healthy Stepfamily (Baker Books, 2004). 

​I earned a Master of Arts in Communication from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2001-  the catalyst for setting me on the writing path!  Since that time I have not stopped writing--either writing freelance articles for some Christian publications, or writing as a part of my day job--grants,  curriculum, scripts, promotional pieces, newsletters, instructional guides, brochures, web sites, fliers, posters, business letters and outreach emails, among other things!​

My vision:

• Just to be a vessel for God to reach others.  A particular burden in this season is to offer a perspective that takes my reader's eyes off of the messed up stuff of 'religion' and 'church-people', to shift their gaze where it belongs-- to a beautiful, personal, Savior.  Anything else is "click-bait." 

My values:

My employment background includes:

• 7+ years in higher education as a career and academic advisor,
• 9 years directing children's and women's ministry programs on a church staff,
• 20 years in corporate accounting.

Hobbies (besides writing):  

• Acrylic painting (subjects include nature, acoustic instruments)
• Flower and herb gardening
• Bible study and reading
• Critters
• Exploring

Married to Carl since 1989, we live the small-town country life
in the beautiful Arkansas Ozarks community of Mountain View.
